When(ever)
Whenever you're here
By my side,
I could take on
The biggest roller coaster ride.
When your hand is in mine,
My nerves fade away.
We're as comfy as sweatpants
That have started to fray.
Whenever you look at me
With those deep brown eyes,
All my worries
Minimize.
When you say the silliest things
Just to make me grin,
My heart begins
To knot and spin.
Whenever you lean in to kiss me,
Only you and I exist,
We hardly even notice
The light summery mist.
When heavier rain starts to fall
We break free of our trance,
You begin to spin me around
In a clumsy slippery dance.
When we fall to the pavement,
We're laughing in each others' arms
Then we play tag down the street
Setting off car alarms.
When we get to my house,
We pause in front of the door.
I say "I had fun",
And you lean in once more.
When my lips meet yours
Its like no other feeling,
I'm eager for the next "Whenever" with you
To leave my head reeling.
