shock pulsates through
these veins, head
jerks, heart stops
mind runs wild
with darkest fears
that strangle me
comprehension abandons
me, serenity a distant
memory, destruction
so near it calls for me
but protection from
up above shields
those demons of disaster
and saves me
thank god for him,
the protector so far
yet so comfortably
close, thank you
for your decency,
if not for you
my conscience would
be beaten, pain
a constant reality
