Endless Night
the stars, they look so beautiful.
i remember when, you thought so too.
on those nights, so long ago,
when you loved me, like you used to.
we would lay there in the silent night
making wishes on shining lights
that on a night, so long ago,
brought me to you.
i always thought,
when night passed into day,
things would stay the same.
but how was i to know,
the daylight would be so bright?
and that when night came again,
the spark would be dimmed until it was dead.
now it can never be re-lit.
i'll sit here in the darkness
with my heart on the ground,
letting it freeze through and through
because when you left,
the light did too.
