Sweeney My Love
Mr. Sweeney Todd,
My dream and my lover,
Falls in damp sod,
White makeup do cover
The bruises and bashes,
From my dear love,
The customer crashes,
Skin pale as the dove
“Come, come,” my dear,
Welcomes with a smile,
Like a sheep I’ll sheer,
But you’ll fall a mile
In darkness and tragedy,
Does my true love reside,
Without laughter or comedy,
He casts me aside
But still my love remains,
For him and him true,
Yet his words are all in vain,
I wish to say I do
In a bloodstained gown,
At the Alter we meet,
We’ve massacred the town,
Listening to his whisper,
To himself,
“Beware of me, my dear,”
He sings under his breath,
“For I am Sweeney Todd,
Demon Barber of Fleet Street!”
