Wonders MAG
On a cool November night,
When the crowd's all around,
A crossover, a basket,
A foul, a rebound.
The ball connects with the court,
As the clock runs down,
You're like a startle, a jumpstart,
Like the final buzzer's sound.
Happiness holds you captive,
Now your fans won't settle down,
You're my personal point guard,
You force my heart to pound.
Or on a warm night in June,
On the carnival grounds,
I catch your eye in all the light,
But lose your voice in all the sound.
Like little kids, we run amuck,
The night spontaneous, so profound.
High in the sky on the ferris wheel,
You lift my feet right off the ground.
Like when the Tilt-A-Whirl whirls,
Or on the merry-go-round,
The whole world is a blur,
You make my head spin around.
Even deep into July,
On a sweltering day,
Your arms are my pool,
In them I'll wade.
You'll catch me when I dive,
And wash my impurities away,
Life under water is so flawless,
You're my oxygen to stay.
Your eyes are bluer than my ocean,
More hypnotic than its waves,
I'm drowning deep inside you,
You take my breath away.
A quarter of our lives gone by,
The years still flowing through,
The months pass through our fingertips,
Tomorrow's smiles overdue.
Over time, you may let go,
But the seasons still loop around,
The clock on the wall may scare us all,
But time will never let us down.
