Deceit
I wish you were here
So you could watch the pain leak from my heart
And flow from my eyes
Everything I gave you
Was washed away into the sea of memories
And the clouds of spicy red scattered
And replaced with the empty murky midnight
You took the stars from the sky
And pressed them into my chest
With each word that slipped from your velvet lips
Kisses of promise and trust
Warmed my imagination
As you spoke lavender and heaven
You knew just what I desired
Blow out the melancholy flame
And relight the candle with your lies
But only you would know
The hands on the clock break down
And crumble beneath the feet of exposure
While sorry permeates the atmosphere
Gullible shows a face of finish
The beating stops
And I am left in the starless night
A familiar place
