Fire Flickers
You're burning away my words
Like fire on my journal
But I never meant to do anything bad
Your orange flickers of danger
Pass right underneath my nose
I don't smell a single trace of smoke
Until after the damage is done
And I sit here, burned, scarred
Right down to the heart
It's hard to get there with some people
Your flames can't reach there
But there are people like me
That your fire can't resist burning
You let me die, while you went wild
Never to be contained
I'll thank you later for giving me realization
I need bulletproof, fireproof walls around my heart
My tears will be putting out your fire
Drops of words that leave you drowning in regret
Sever those ties I once had to you
And I'm leaving now and forever.
