The Fall
I'm tripping over frail thoughts,
sung to me behind winter dreams
and if I agreed to now,
would you remember what you asked of me?
My stomach is in knots but my hand is on the phone
and even if it kills us your voice feels just like home
How much further can we crawl on bruised knees and bleeding hands?
Because as the days get older I'm forgetting how to stand
in your presence
The price of love is just too much to write
but you exist in my world like a perforated knife
We can't slow down before picking up dust
We'll never last beyond, your already injured trust
Welcome to the fall again
Beyond gray clouds and dreams
Nothing is the way it tastes
when you're asleep
