Above the water’s shadow
has fell to the last breath of the night,
fear
as a black
felt of blankets,
gripping
with every fiber,
choking air like thick
gray musk.

A crow cuts
its warning cackle
echoing into the demented depths.

The sky is
a pit falling
forever.
