Repeat Offender
Sometimes you think you’re okay
With being by yourself.
You give up on that one person,
Put your heart on a shelf.
Then other days you crash
Haphazardly back into their open arms.
You know that you shouldn’t in your head,
But in your heart you feel they could never cause anymore harm.
Your friends all tell you the same
That you’re making a big mistake.
Though you know that trying to fight the feelings
Will only turn you into a fake.
He has the heartbreaker smile
That could ruin you with just one glance
His kiss will leave you breathless for that moment
But he’s not looking to trade a little lust for romance.
Yet you fall for him over and over again,
With every one of those dangerous smiles.
Your feelings for him may never fade,
But for you, his only last for awhile.
