Outcast
The sun is rising,
The day is beginning,
But I don't want to get up.
I don't want to wake up,
And face another day,
In a world that doesn't accept me.
I crave the darkness,
Turn the lights out.
I crave the silence,
Stop the whispers.
No I'm not like you!
But please don't treat me like a virus.
I'm a human too,
And you can still break my heart.
Now the rain is coming.
Soft, sweet little rain.
How you are so misunderstood.
No one understands your full beauty.
The way you make things shine.
But I do.
No one hears your beautiful song.
The soft pitter-patter of you falling down the walls.
But I do.
So you and me can be friends.
I'll whisper silently to you,
And you won't answer.
At least not with words.
You'll answer with your soft pitter-patter.
And I'll know you love me.
You soft, sweet little rain.
