Celebrity.
Neon white smears into your vision;
Overwhelms your eyes.
Flashing lights from eager cameras
desperately grasping for your attention,
for the gaze of a celebrity
is so precious.
So you give them what they want. A mere look,
flitting your eyes along the countless blurs of light
with the faceless owners behind them,
click click clicking away.
But the cameras aren’t satisfied.
Never pleased. They want more. They crave entertainment, they thirst for twists in the story.
It could drive you crazy. It should.
But stifle your thoughts, don’t give in.
Just smile and wave.
