Looked off into the distance
Have you ever just looked off
into the distance
and felt the pull to just run?
Run in lines or a zigZag,
even odd shaped circles,
somehow making your way
to the edge of the trees.
Just run
and run,
give a long jump,
a cross swinging around your neck.
The direction you take to get there doesn't matter-
s'long as you never look back:
Take in the beauty
that surrounds you,
feel the burden of the skies,
stir up the leaves,
...leave yourself behind.
