Iridescence
Fall’s penetrating wind
Ignites golden particles within its evening gale,
Smearing pastel coasts and foreign hues
Upon such arid premises; but darkness scavenges
And lurks to mutilate the chromatic vivacity
In pairs and in solo do the bypass,
Look them not in the eye
And stand not in their way,
When saturated pigments are stained by nocturnal greed.
