I'm That Girl
I’m that girl at the back of the class
The one nobody really knows exists
She makes straight A’s
And when she goes to lunch
She sits all by herself
She sits in class and writes poems and stories
About a life
A life she wished she had
A life she wished she didn’t
The life she’s trying to get away from
Oh I’m that girl
She sits there and she thinks about
Everything she knows
She wonders why
Her life is how it is
She’s smart
She’s pretty
But nobody even knows who she is
She wishes she could just be heard
She has no other wishes
Every birthday candle
Every dandelion
She wishes for a voice
She wishes someone would listen
Oh I’m that girl
