The way I feel
Cold wind
Dark blue skies
As I walk down the street with tears in my eyes
Hands clenched
Legs tense
As I walk by the white picket fence
Wearing my heart on the sleeve
As I live naïve
No love, Just lies
I remember begging you to not leave me alone
But you don’t stay
You go
Baby, there is no difference between both
I fall to the ground
And the tears drop without a sound
I grab the weeds in between my fingers
And I can hear the last of his words in the air
They linger
I can feel death coming unto me
Just like the rhythm of a song
& as I take my last breath I glance over the picket white fence
I see that the grass has always been greener on the other side
But I never had the chance to realize it
Because the fire was always lit
& my eyes were blurry as I cried
I didn’t have a choice but to put my vision of life
Aside
