What Still Remains
If the sun fades away my love,
If the dove goes away my love,
If stone be the heart and warmth gone from grove,
What will life be but not our love my love?
As love is our sunrise horizon without we have sunset,
Let it be,
Let us see,
For what is life without sunrise?
As Earth is round this be true,
And so too truth be love,
The heart a hunger the soul a lover,
Nothing remains except this.
Life is less and mortal,
Love is endless and vast,
Where life is lost love is found,
If there is no other way love, then love is our journey.
If words wear away my love,
If wrongs become a man’s rights my love,
If reason be relinquished my love,
What will life be but not our love my love?
As pain is an affliction whether body or mind,
Love is alleviation so kind,
And although it too can be a twisted madness,
Love leads us to weeping profoundness.
As man is evil, love is man good,
Life is lovely only with love,
Life would be so lonely without,
Nothing remains except this, a kiss.
If disease destroys human days my love,
If flowers float away my love,
If the world withers away and nothing remains my love,
Then our love will still remain.
