Claustrophobia
remember that day
on the train
where we had to stand
closer
that shoulder to shoulder
so tight
and warm
and suffocating
I didn't mind much though
because it was you I had to be near
and
you talked to me
and kept me from smashing those poor people
those other people
with my elbows
and then curling up on the ground
in a ball
because I wanted to
oh, I wanted to
instead
I just felt your close warmth
and looked up into your face
looking into mine
you looked bemused at my panic
it would have been much worse
if you were gone
like you are now
