aPPeArenCeS decIEvE
A person cannot be defined by the way he looks,
For a vagabond can dress in velvet
And a king can dress in rags,
A scarred female can put on makeup,
And a fine lady can become scarred.
People cannot be judged by their actions:
For a normally vigilant driver may unwarily doze and kill
And a normally reckless driver may be the one being killed.
An ugly duckling may really be a swan
And a swan may really be an ugly duck inwardly.
A preacher may lie
But a liar can speak truth
Kittens will claw
But may also softly cuddle
Puppies might bite
But can also gently nuzzle
Mothers might use harsh words
But may also be speak angelically
People will err
Stars don't always shine,
And appearances continue to deceive.
