Those Tripping Memories

with the sweet sadness
of a memory
I hope they never fade
grow dull and gray
I hope that they,
these memories
never stop making me feel
feel like I am tripping down the stairs
my stomach lurching
but bringing smiles to my face
even where there is no one else to see
I hope I can recall
everything
every tiny detail
some are already slipping
I hope I can remember
because heaven knows
you will forget
