Heart Song
I am glitter and capital letters.
I am yellow starlight and the sugar on the tips of my painted fingers.
Fake blond hair and rosy cheeks.
Scuff marks on my lemonade converse.
Amethyst sunsets and raindrops on my pale skin.
I pull my sleeves down over my hands.
I wonder what you see in me that makes you want to hold my waist
and take my heart in your hands.
Pencils and macabre illusions of greatness.
Together, we fight the darkness.
