One thing that really kills me,
Is the stereotypical image overtaking,
Creeping,
Worming itself into every girls mind.
She hates herself because of these ideas,
Stained into her mind.
She has no idea.
Her mind is so clear yet controversial about who she is.
Who she wants to be.
But lately it seems like being yourself will never be enough,
I wish I thought like how she used to.
I will be the first one to admit that image weighs on my mind.
It shouldn't,
But it does.
I know when I wake up I need my mask just to get through the day,
But what is my mask really hiding?
Blemishes or insecurities?
Its up to you to decide that,
Up to her.
God.
Sometimes I just want to take her by the shoulders and shake up until she realizes its time to stop!
Stop doubting.
Stop hating every aspect about who she is.
Stop believing that who you are will never be good enough.
Just.
Stop.
Because the more I see this,
The more I just want to take her outside and open her eyes to see that
Everyone is different.
And this is good.
Its even kind of awesome because if everyone looked like everyone else,
Who would you be then?
You'd be just another nameless face rolling throw this life,
Without a care in the world,
And no footprints to show that you were here.
If you aren't who you were meant to be,
Then what defines you?
Just once,
I want her to look in the mirror and like what she sees.
It's really not that hard to find one good thing,
Is it?
I can't bear to hear anymore thought out excuses,
I just want her to see.
But as the days start and end,
It will always be the same.
Because she has no idea that she's beautiful.
