winter sickness
Fall is too short, thanksgiving is always too cold, but Christmas never gets any snow. So really when does winter start? For me it's when you start to see frost everyday, when it's bitterly cold and no matter how good your boots are the snow soaks through and makes your double pair of socks wet, then half frozen. How the hot shower becomes such a luxury, and hot chocolate and chapstick are always needed. When you wish mom would turn on the fireplace, haha I don't understand her. When your lovely sky turns a shade of gray that seems to reflect off of the old snow, the gross slush everyone's walked through. Winter is a dark time when I wish I could be somewhere else; instead I go to my room and make a nest out of blanket upon blanket, layer upon layer, covering my self up so I can't see the world until spring. I'm in a cocoon and I love every minute of it.
