Hide and Seek
Poetry hides within
The dusty books
Stuffed in lockers,
Rarely escaping to see the fluorescent light.
It hides within its pages
Filled with unspoken words
And stories longing to be heard.
Poetry hides inside students
Too scared or embarrased to express their feelings
Past their own conscience.
It waits inside, like a raining day,
Hoping . . .
Praying . . . to get out.
