Unseen
She sits alone and wonders why
Why she can’t be like other kids
Why she can’t be what her parents want
She sits at home and starts to cry
She cries because it isn’t fair
She hates seeing things that really aren’t there
Tries and tries to tell someone—anyone who will listen
No one does, because no one cares
Everyone just pretends she isn’t there
Her parents stopped trying
Her friends lost interest
She sat alone and thought up a solution to all her problems
It wouldn’t take long and no one would notice
She sat alone and created her chemical concoction
No one noticed when the girl went missing
No one noticed when the girl quit breathing
