Followed
You ever get that feeling?
When someone’s right behind you,
Tagging along.
You wonder…
Who is this person?
Why are they following?
What is their motive?
Going to class.
Clack, clack, clack
On the pavement.
No worries, I’m making a turn.
Clack, clack, clack.
Okay, weird.
Clack, clack
Going over a bridge,
It’s rocky.
She wouldn’t be able to follow in heels.
Clack, chonk, skeet, clack, clack, clack.
I sped up, she was getting closer.
Climbing stairs,
Clack, clack, clack,
She’s practically on top of me.
Look around, red hair, black suit.
Clack, clack, clack,
Speed up, down stairs.
Clack-clack, clack-clack, clack-clack.
Who is this lady, why is she following?
I stop, I turn.
“Do you know where I can find some Gatorade?”
That’s the reason she’s following?
Is it some kind of trick?
“No, I don’t,” I answer.
I sure hope that wasn’t a mistake.
“Okay.”
She walks off,
The humor.
