Faith of a Broken Heart
What if I threw my blood-stained beating heart on the pavement
And left it there
To be
Eaten by vultures
Trampled on by passers-by
Frost bitten by the coldness
Of the world
Leaving me
To find a new one
Or maybe
A worthy man would someday
Rescue my sunken heart
Depressed
But continues to beat with some faith
That the right kind of love will come this time
To preserve
What remains
