Doldrums
Walking in a meadow, it's a calm evening.
Nothing happens as I lay in the grass, except the movement of the clouds slowly shambling by at their own, slow pace.
Lying here in the grass, staring at the sky, the stars like so many diamonds glinting in the evening atmosphere.
I take in what my senses will give me.
The sound of my heart beating, throbbing in my ears, as I lay staring at the stars.
The way the wind makes the grass sway, like a sea of green.
The way my hair covers my face, and I push it back.
Or maybe I don't.
Nothing much happens on this calm evening, where nothing even happens.
