4th of July
My skate shoes
rebelled against my will
as they slipped off my heals
which was the only thing
making my prescence known
I ran
unwillingly laughing along the way
as my hair was carried
behind my back
flowing
the coolness of the night
comforted me
like a blanket does a child
A bubble of laughter escaped my unwilling throat
A smile spread across my unwilling cheeks
As I hurry to write there words down
So I can get back to the illegal fireworks over yonder
