Alone
I am alone
In a room full of people
And the church cannot recognize
Criticizing from the steeple
“God doesn’t like you.”
Says he
“I am perfect,
You should be like me.”
There is no one in my thoughts
But this demon I cannot erase
It dwells in me
And becomes my face
My hands are empty
While all toys of the world let go and break
But still I smile
And nobody would believe it’s fake
So I walk this journey
There is no one in the stands
And as I look behind
No footprints in my sand
I am alone
With millions like me
People can ignore
Choose not to see
It’s not a crime
To be unlike them
It is a punishment
Myself to condemn
Until I find the other
Who is so like me
We will stand above the mountains
A world to see
He will take my hand
Show me his footprints
Hidden by my own eyes
From the indifference
And I will not be so alone
