Together is all that Matters
Holding hands as we walk through the crowd.
Looking at all the eyes staring at us.
A popular girl with an uncool guy.
Some people congratulate and some pry.
Hearing all the sneers, but us not caring.
Physically here, but our minds are elsewhere.
Willow tree above he leans in to kiss.
I lean in too and kiss my last first kiss.
The sun disappears into the black lake.
The dance is over, and now we must leave.
I say, I love you, and go to march back.
In military camp...but together.
