Lady of Dreams
There’s a little girl who lives down the street
Only seen her once
But I knew from her swollen face
That she was like me
Hello what is your name?
She looks at me with eyes surrounded with purple and brown
In them I see intelligence
Wanting to be set free
She doesn’t reply
A lady walks out of the house
Slithers I should say
That woman sent chills up my spine
Looked familiar she did
She turns to me
With her eyes of evil
Smiles of smile with her crocodile teeth
Hello Rose
It’s been a long time
She lunges at me
Grabs me with her claws
I scream
But no one hears me
The people on the street look just like her
Smiling devilishly
We’ve got her we’ve got her
they chant
I wake up
It was just another nightmare
Of my life back then
It’ll scare me till I’m grown
I look over to my left
And see my older sister sleeping peaceful
As long as she’s there I’ll be fine
She won’t get me
That lady of dreams
