Denial
Long forgotten love, tender and sweet
A footstep away, that’s one too many feet
A whisper of a wish thrust forth in your face
Denial like a wind creating empty space
Force wills your mind away
That secret to which you’re a slave
That yearning not yours to seek
The feelings soft, the new ones fleet
A once upon a time, without a happily ever end
A heart that’s broken over lust leaves scars that never mend
What’s worse than losing, is never having what you lost
Lying to yourself only suffers you the cost
Tears dried before they fall
When you want it once you want it all
Lost because you cannot seek
What you wish to gain but cannot reach
