Supernova
The stars burst into existence
The fire inside burned bright
Casting a glowing light
All around with no resistance
It scattered across the cosmos
Into vast expanses of nothingness
The cloaking black was emptiness
The core of icy pathos
The beacon of light were far away
Swirling energy like an orb
Suns disappear, no heat absorbed
It was endless night, and no more day
Far in the distance lay a sphere
Of great red energy and might
A shining flare of light
Nearest life in a light year
Gravity pulled the star in
They tangoed in the dark
Their light an awaking lark
But all things must have an end
Black holes and cosmic power
Swallowed up the endless illumination
It fell into despair, breaking gravity’s fixation
The lonely star watched the last Meteor shower
Until the supernova came
And the universe was never the same
