My Heart
I lay there in the flower field,
So calm and happy.
But then you ripped out my heart
And stomped on it.
Then you said,
“I love you”
I lay there in the flower field,
So confused and cold.
I had pool of blood next to me.
But I wasn’t dying.
For you wouldn’t let me.
As I lay there,
You patched up my wound.
You took my hand, and told me
“Everything will be okay.”
But you know it won’t.
Not for a long time.
You had ripped my heart out,
And fed it to the wolves.
Yet you kiss me and say,
“I love you”
What am I to do,
After you rip my heart out like that?
Am I to just leave it be?
Am I to just pretend,
Or forget?
I’m sorry but I can’t.
I can not forget what you did.
But I can try to forgive.
For I love you with all my heart
And more.
