Unspoken
I see you
Your grey umbrella high
As rain, like diamonds, falls
around you
Your footsteps sounding softly
As you drift towards an unknown
destination
I see you
Red rivers coursing through your
veins
Your heartbeat like a lost drum
In a desertous Kenya
Colors and visions darting through
your mind
I see you
Alone in a world of strangers
Screaming but no one hears you
Arms raised high
Voice yelling dark truths
You scream for freedom from
prejudice
From all those freaks
Who just won't leave
Who scream
Who dream
I say, "I see you"
Running from the reality you've
suffered
Masking your growing pain
Feet pounding
One after the other
And back again
I see you
Calmly walking away
No racing heart
No guilt for some dark secret
No running feet
You don't even know me stranger
But words I leave unspoken
Folded like a napkin in your
pocket
Following you like the soles of
your shoes
Smudged like the lipstick stain
on your starched collar
Stamped in the very air you breath
I want to see you again...
