the note exploding when it touches his skin; creating a climax of spontaneous combustion
in her anxious mind
her hands shaking as she folds the paper, she feels
like her words are written on the black board; projecting them for everyone to judge
that she’s crazy enough to believe she’s in love
giving up, his eyes meet hers and she imagines, his lips parting
and silently speaking volumes when she closes her eyes:
he tells her, “I love you"
