Present
Here lies your childhood
Among these pages scribbled in
with violet and navy blue
when the world was all that you wanted.
Scraped knees couldn't hold us back
Now we fear heart attacks-
How did we grow so quickly and old,
From the times when life was ours to mold?
Wrinkled, worn out hands close the dusty box found
In the back left corner of the attic, under the Christmas ornaments- as we push the memories back to realize that
There lies our childhood, but HERE lies our present.
