I slide through the air
Spreading darkness
Slinking around the earth
The light and sounds
Oh, I wish
To reach in and join
The wonders that live there
But no, impossible
Stars twinkle
On my broad infinity
Like little fish in a pond
Dancing across
My ripples of nothing
My threads seep through
The world
Burned by candles
Dodging light from windows
I see bright lights
Hear laughter ahead
But as I reach out
They disappear
Quenched
Silenced
Why?
