The Ticking Clock
Slowly he paced
The wooden emptiness surrounding him,
Each tree triggered a long lost face
Yet he found the musky smell in the air charming, for
It brought color to her blurring face
She was still the main focus on his mind;
Solitude and resistance embraced his dim, protesting halo,
He was not young, the time was getting closer
He must learn to let go.
Slowly he paced
The sandy emptiness surrounding him,
Each wave elicited a long lost time
Yet he found the melody of the sea enchanting, for
It washed to shore her face
She was still the main focus on his mind;
Acceptance and comprehension embraced his growing, brighter halo,
He was not young, the time was getting closer
He was learning to let go.
Slowly he paced
The airy emptiness surrounding him,
Each breeze sparked memories of his long lost life
Yet he found the thoughts comforting, for
He knew he would forever remember her face
She was still the main focus on his mind;
Understanding, the divine embraced the warmth of his halo,
He was not young, and the time had come
He let go, murmuring
Goodbye
