Down in the Park
Down by the daffodil field,
Down where birds sing and flowers dance,
A girl sits by the lake,
Breaking the surface with her small foot,
As she sketches trees on her art pad,
And fiddles with her hair.
Round the lake,
Where willow trees bend,
A boy jumps into a boat,
Paddling beneath the shade,
As he shouts back to his mother,
That he is really heading home.
Over the hills,
Where oak trees stand proudly,
A boy sets out a picnic rug,
As a girl sets out some food,
Laughing together as good friends should.
Down in the park,
Where such beautiful things thrive,
Where girls and boys play happily,
Birds sing, flowers dance,
Boys swim, girls draw,
And then join for a picnic,
There is no hatred,
Nothing but love.
