No One Was There
No one was there
No one was there to bleed with her
No one was there to seal her heart
If anyone had been there to speak to her
She might not have been dead from the start
No one was there to cradle him
No one was there to say good bye
No one was there to tell him
In this world it's live or die
No one was there to kiss her
No one was there to listen to her tears
No one was there to tell her to be brave
And she still faced her greatest fears
No one was there to lose him
No one was there to smooth back his hair
He cried for mercy
And yet no one seemed to care
No one was there to tend to her grief
No one was there to ease her sorrows
No one was there to see her yesterday
Or to tell her there would be no more tomorrows
No one was there to say I love you
All they could do was stare
All they saw was nothing
Because no one was there
