what love is
A little 6 year old girl,
orphaned for 3 years,
knows all too well what pain is,
knows all too well what death is,
She's waiting for someone,
anyone to see her,
to show her the love she doesn't know,
at night, she wonders,
if anyone will love her,
so she cries to her heart's content,
Mommies & Daddies come,
but never pick her,
she cries when she realizes,
they don't want her,
at night she wonders,
if anyone will love her,
so she cries until it hurts,
little girl, 6 years old,
with no hope in the world,
just sits there,
as kids leave to new homes,
homes she'll never know,
as she sits there,
a young woman walks over,
takes one look,
then walks away,
and talks to someone,
that night she knows,
the young woman,
now a mother,
loves her
as she lays in her new bed she cries,
because she finally knows what love is.
