The Swan
Twirling around,
the dancefloor I see
the director´s face suddendly
changing.
The second twirl starts
and the face is
transformed.
First it looks like
Adam
,
the boyfriend I
just
left.
Now it´s my mother
snubbing at my
weight.
Next it´s Lily´s
,
hammering me with
a
swear.
It isn´t long until all
the
faces mesh
together.
Lily
screams
while my mother
stares.
Adam just
listens
to my every
word.
I know the music has
stopped
,
but I
cannot seem able
to.
Am I
damned
to keep
twirling, and
twirling,
and get
stuck
in this dance?
Or will I someday
stumble
,
ending
my
life?
