A Prayer of Content
Dear God
I ask your forgiveness
For all the things I’ve done
I know that life’s been good to me
And I’m not the only one
I ask that you watch over me
In everything I do
I promise that when I’m alone
I’ll always think of you
I ask that you remind me
Of everything I am
I don’t know much about the world
Sometimes the good turns bad
I ask that you remember
To change the leaves this fall
To keep my family close to me
To watch the young grow tall
I ask that when December comes
There is a little snow
And when I crawl in bed tonight
I’m hoping that you’ll know
I am content in every way
With life and air and you
If ever I do tend to stray
I trust you’ll hold me true
