The Monster in the Mirror
I glance into the mirror
Take a long look
Shiver, turn away,
Disgusted
By my reflection
What have I become?
Selfish, mean,
Not human anymore
But something
Unreal. Dead.
A shell of myself,
Nothing inside that head
Nothing but greed,
Dishonesty,
A monster.
A cloud hangs around
The body.
Brackish
Menacing, evil
What has made me this?
To that question,
There is only one answer
One I will not admit
Shying away from the truth
Terrified of reality.
I made the monster.
