Your Smile
The corners of your mouth,
I watch as they turn up.
And your teeth shine brightly,
As a huge smile covers your face,
And my heart just pounds.
As you grab her hand,
Touch her sentimentally,
Tilt her head,
And kiss her softly.
My heart cracks a little,
But then it suddenly repairs.
When I see that smile come back to your face,
Because then I know.
I know that you are being loved.
I know that someone cares about you.
I know someone will never hurt you.
I know you will always be safe.
I know you will always be happy.
And knowing that you walk with a smile,
Means the world to me,
Even if I have to walk with a frown.
