Who Were You?
Who were you?
Did you have a family?
What about friends?
What was your story?
I walk by you everyday and wonder
What would it have been like to know you?
But nothing bothers me as much as this
How did you die?
Did it hurt?
Were you alone?
These questions fill my brain
As I kneel on the damp grass
You were only seventeen
Much too young to die
You couldn’t have lived life like you wanted
Or did you?
Do you miss it here?
Or are the troubles of Earth no longer your problem?
Are you truly at peace?
Or do your memories still haunt you?
I see flowers all around
But never any for you
Were you forgotten?
Did they leave you?
Do you hear me when I talk to you?
Or am I just crazy?
I don't think I ever would have met you
But now I wish I had
Could we switch places?
Let me go where you are and you come back
No one would ever notice
You could have you life back and I could be free
Now you're nothing but an abandoned gravestone
And I am a lost soul
Both alone in our lives
Forever in the dark
