New poem. Hopefully acceptable. "Time."
Time
It takes time.
I can't seem to shake this.
Of course, it could be just a crush,
Puppy love, they call it,
Teenage lust,
A cry to be accepted by someone. This is different,
A real emotion.
Love may not be an emotion,
But rather a privilege,
Your heart allowing someone else in.
It could be a quick visit,
Or an extended stay.
Many past visitors have ransacked it,
Leaving it destroyed,
Completely annihilated.
Repairs often take time.
Every repair makes it stronger, Never the same as before.
Change is welcome.
It never feels good at first,
It takes time.
Alas, when I see your smile, Lighting the darkness,
And your hair,
Flowing in the breeze,
As it seems to bring me closer. You may not be thinking of me, Your mind set on another shelter, But, I still have hope.
It takes time.
