“Carpe Diem!” Shouts the man
His shining armor gleams.
He sends the troops with a rallying cry
The ringing of armor fills the air.

The battle begins with a clamoring clash
Sharpened blades go wildly swinging
Blood flies and anguished screams fill the air,
Death runs free today.

He flies throughout to claim their souls
Their lives are his prize.
The dusk arrives, his deeds are done
And Death shouts, “Carpe Diem!”

The author's comments:
I wrote this in my creative writing class at school. We were assigned to write about "Carpe Diem", meaning: sieze the day. Angelus Mortis means Angel of Death. If I am wrong about that Latin, please post it.

Wow, that was so interesting!  Full of symbolism- and every word seemed to have a purpose.  Very cool poem.
